Hot Sand Cool Water is a coastal work structured around contrast, proximity, and sensory balance.
The composition is organised along the narrow boundary between land and water, where temperature, texture, and movement meet. The shoreline acts as a dividing line, holding warm sand and cooler water in deliberate tension while allowing each to retain its own rhythm and weight.
Patterned water forms introduce depth and motion, while the beach remains pared back and restrained, grounding the work through reduction rather than detail. Small, incidental elements are integrated quietly, reinforcing scale and human presence without becoming narrative.
