INTO THE WILD

$1,620.00

Into The Wild is an artwork that asks the question- what is between you and your richest and most immersed life?

This work at first glance is a poised and beautiful woman enjoying a serene river float. She gazes into the landscape around her but remains removed due to the thin, clear silo she perches on. When creating this artwork I was thinking about an elderly patient I nursed who informed me that the meaning to life was getting the most out of each moment as you live it because the future and the past is not something you experience- only the now. Her exact words were; “Get your hair wet, swim with hairy legs and if you can swim- get in the water!”. She was very aged and was reflecting on the things she now knows she took for granted. The seriousness in the way she delivered this advice made me take note.

This work started on my iPad. Each mark deliberately made by hand. The I had it printed professionally on this lux 400gsm canvas using archival inks. Once it was back in my studio, I used a mix of acrylic, foil and acrylic medium to keep adding texture and life to the work. This is an original work.

The canvas is signed on the front and back and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
